Not So Fast: Virginia’s Permanent COVID-19 Workplace Standard Remains in Effect
Businesses and the public alike have cheered the lifting of various state restrictions related to COVID-19, with Governor Northam recently easing mask requirements via Executive Order.
However, businesses should remember that Virginia’s Final Permanent Standard aimed at protecting the health and safety of workers during the pandemic still remains in effect. Pursuant to the regulation, its requirements will continue until the Governor declares an end to the state of emergency and the regulation is repealed by the Department of Labor and Industry’s Safety and Health Codes Board.
